Full Color Business Cards, Foiled Business Cards, Embossed Business Cards, Raised Ink Business Cards?

What does it mean?

There are many ways to print a business cards, here are three commonly seen ways: 1) Full Color, 2) Foiled Business cards, 3) Embossed Business Cards.

  • Full Color Business Cards: This type of business cards are printed full color on the front and/or back of the business card. Usually, with a glossy finish that could be uv-coated on the front and/or the back of the business card.
  • Foiled Business Cards: This type of business cards can be printed full color as well. The difference is the logo or some text can be foiled with a metallic silver or gold. Typically, there is a high up-front setup cost since a die needs to be cast for creating such effect. This type of business card can not be uv-coated.
  • Embossed Business Cards: This type of business cards are printed full color on the front and/or back of the business card as well. The difference is the logo or a border or the business card has a raised or sunk in effect. Typically, there is a higher setup cost due to the making of the die to create such effect. This type of business cards can not be uv-coated.
  • Raised Ink Business Cards: This type of business card is constricted to 1 or 2 color ink. It is a different process to make the text looks like it is painted on the business card.
