What are the print file format most commercial printer accepts?

They are:

  • PDF print file format with .pdf file extension
  • Adobe Illustrator print file format with .ai file extension
  • Adobe Photoshop print file format with .psd file extension
  • Adobe InDesign print file format with .indd file extension
  • EPS print file format with .eps file extension
  • High resolution jpeg print file format
  • High resolution tiff print file format

To sum it up, most of the Adobe creative suite files, are the best for sending over to the commercial printers especially with a flattened pdf print file is more desirable.

However, Microsoft Office Suite has gotten very popular as well. The application such as Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel, now provides some capabilities for creating fliers, postcards, business cards, brochures, and many other printed materials. Most commercial printers do not take these types of files.
